Tap Compass is designed to know as little about you as possible. No bank linking, no street address, no profile to sell. Here is exactly how that works.
No bank linking
Tap Compass never connects to your bank account and never sees your balance or transactions. You choose which cards you carry, and the app reads their published reward rules. There are no credentials to hand over.
Location only while you use it
The app uses your location to find the store around you, and only while you have it open. It knows the store you are in, not where you live. Your street address is never shown or stored.
Only the data it needs
Tap Compass keeps the list of cards and programs you add so it can do the math. That is it. There is no advertising profile built from your shopping, and nothing about you is sold.
No hidden money movement
Tap Compass cannot make a payment or move money. It recommends a card and opens your wallet. You make the tap, in your own bank or wallet app, exactly as you would without us.
Honest about what it is not
It is a POC built to be genuinely useful, not a bank. It holds no accounts and issues no cards. When something is unknown, like a store it cannot detect, it says so instead of guessing.
Encrypted in transit
Traffic between the app and its backend runs over standard encrypted connections. Reward data comes from a catalog, not from anything tied to your identity.
